About Caring Together

We are proud that in 2023/24 we supported 26,808 people – unpaid carers and those they look after, but there are more than 150,000 carers living in our region. And this number is rising.

Three in five of us will become a carer at some point in our life.

Caring Together is an ambitious regional charity that provides emotional and practical support, advice and guidance to carers of all ages and their families, as well as opportunities to take a break from their caring role.

We believe in providing great care and connecting with the people we support.

About the role

In recognition of the important and skilled work done by our care staff, we use the job title ‘care professional’, which replaced the job title of care worker in  August 2022.

Support will involve personal and social care and support to achieve personal goals and positive outcomes.

Care professionals work alongside colleagues in a similar role and a wider team providing information, advice and guidance to carers.

The successful candidate will be driven to provide high-quality, person-centred care at the times people would like it. They will work with people of all ages, with a range of conditions and requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to work within the community in a small, highly effective team providing care and support.

All your training will be paid and you will complete the care certificate qualification if you have not already completed it. There is an opportunity for ongoing professional development.

What our staff say

Jane said, “I feel proud to be part of a team who are committed to providing the best possible support to families, doing small things that make a big difference to people in their own homes and out and about.”

And Brendan said, “My care work consists of helping older people with personal care, shopping, taking them on trips out, though mostly they enjoy having someone to chat to, keeping them company.”

We are inclusive. We celebrate multiple approaches and points of view. We are an equal opportunities employer and expect staff to respect the personal choice and lifestyles of colleagues, carers, and people with care needs.
