The role of unpaid carers needs to be given much more recognition, and carers should be given more support.
The State of Caring survey is an important way for you, as a carer, to have your say on issues that affect you. What is said is then used by Carers UK and others to campaign for changes and to inform work to support carers. For example, in campaigning for and informing the Carers Leave Act, and in campaigning for changes around Carer’s Allowance after the significant issues with over payments came to light. Last year more than 11,000 carers gave their views.
This year’s survey is now open (it closes on 11 August) for you to give your views.
It covers issues and areas which carers have told Carers UK matter to them. The full survey takes 20-30 minutes to fully complete. Even if you don’t get to the end, your responses will be saved and the answers you have given can be used. But please do answer as many questions as you feel able to.
Remember you can also give your views on the issues that affect you on our Carers Speak Out page which is available for you to give your views year-round.
