Could you help give carers in Norfolk a break?

20th August 20

If you would like to be part of a team, made up of professional care workers and volunteers that, make it possible for carers in Norfolk to have a break, we want to hear from you.

As part our new Bridges programme in Norfolk we are looking for volunteers to help carers with wellbeing support (having a chat and a cup of tea), shopping, cleaning, gardening or accompanying them on trips.

This may be done alongside regulated care provided by our paid care workers or may be supporting in ways where the involvement of professional care workers is not needed.

HR and volunteer coordinator Annie Gault said, “We know that being a carer and looking after a loved one can be very demanding. Having some support and the opportunity for a break is very importanfor them.

“If you would like to support people in this way we really want to hear from you.

“Our volunteers find their roles really rewarding. Many of them have been carers themselves and so know firsthand just how much the support they provide is appreciated. But whether or not you have been a carer we know you will find this a really rewarding role.”
