CDA Hearing Help, previously known as Cambridgeshire Hearing Help, has been supporting local people with hearing loss for decades. Originally established as CAMTAD and later becoming Cambridgeshire Hearing Help, the service merged with Cambridgeshire Deaf Association (CDA) in 2022, continuing its mission to reduce the impact of hearing loss on people’s lives across Cambridgeshire.
Today, CDA Hearing Help is supported by a large team of dedicated volunteers who run friendly drop-in sessions across the county, providing free NHS hearing aid maintenance, retubing, batteries, basic repairs, information and advice. Support is also available through home and care home visits for people who are unable to access a local session.
Alongside practical hearing aid support, Hearing Help offers lipreading classes and a Befriending Scheme for older adults with hearing loss, helping people build confidence, stay independent and reduce loneliness and isolation.
