Three in five of us will become a carer at some point in our lives. Caring Together is an ambitious regional charity that provides emotional and practical support, information and advice to carers of all ages and their families, as well as opportunities to take a break from their caring role.
About the role
This is a fixed term maternity cover role for 12 months.
Are you passionate about empowering young people? Do you have a aptitude for creating engaging and supportive environments? If so, Caring Together Charity are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Carer Communities team and make a real impact on the lives of young carers.
- Empowering young carers: Supporting young carers to cope better with their caring roles and achieve desired individual outcomes.
- Organising breaks and support: Organising, facilitating, and delivering peer support activities, including school holiday trips, to provide young carers with essential breaks from their caring responsibilities.
- Building partnerships: Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key partners, such as schools and colleges, to ensure the effective delivery of our services and activities.
- Managing budgets: Working to budget to ensure spend is made in line with relevant KPIs and timeframes.
- Coordinating support: Coordinating and supporting volunteers and sessional workers within the team.
- Maintaining records: Maintaining accurate and timely records of planned activities, attendance, and outcomes.
- Working in partnership: Working in partnership with young carers, recognising them as expert partners, and ensuring support is person-centred.

What we are looking for from you
- Experience of working with children and young people.
- Experience of organising and facilitating group sessions, ideally including delivering workshops or activities.
- A good understanding of Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding in relation to children and young people.
- Ability to engage with children and young people with enthusiasm and energy.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail, demonstrating a constructive, solution focussed approach.
- Committed to working in partnership with key contacts such as schools and colleges, to achieve the best possible outcomes for young carers.
