Successful young carer awareness assemblies in schools

30th September 20

With schools returning for the start of the new term it was great to see our awareness team out and about at Martham Academy in Great Yarmouth.

Belinda, from Caring Together’s awareness team, delivered twelve assemblies between Key Stage 1 and 2, using the young carers animation for schools, which forms part of the resources we have available for use in schools.

At Caring Together, we offer young carer awareness raising opportunities such as school assembles and workshops. In addition, we offer information packs that can be used by schools which include the animation to engage children in understanding about young carers.

Other support for schools and organisations to get involved in raising the awareness of carers, and identifying and supporting carers, is available through our Carer Friendly Tick – find out more about the award and becoming recognised as carer friendly here.
