Working positively in Norfolk

We have restructured services after taking over Care and some Young Carers  support services in Norfolk from Crossroads Care East Anglia last autumn.

In the next few weeks we will open a new office in Swaffham to serve West Norfolk, and our new office in Ketteringham will cover North East Norfolk, South East Norfolk and Norwich. This will result in the closure of offices which were previously based in Downham Market, Dereham, Attleborough and Horsford. A satellite base in Gorleston will remain.

We almost doubled the carers’ breaks we provide following taking over Norfolk County Council adult, children and some NHS contracts from Crossroads Care East Anglia last October.

Our staff in the offices and the Carer Support Workers out in the community have done a brilliant job at keeping the support for families consistent while undergoing a huge amount of change.  A Norfolk commissioner has reported to us that families have said to them that they have noticed a positive difference in how responsive we are to their calls and queries, which is great to know.

We recently received a lovely letter from the partner of one of someone we support, who described the difference our service has made to him and his family:

“It has made an immense difference to our lives. We have visited places like Sandringham, Dersingham, Castle Rising, Knights Hill, Kings Lynn etc. We have not been out like this for years, so we have to give our thanks for everything. It is really wonderful and we can continue to enjoy your visits.”
