Helping carers with Saturday support

13th November 20

We recently introduced new Saturday appointments that carers can book for one-to-one advice. These carer clinic sessions are held on Zoom on the first Saturday of each month, with carers able to book appointments of 50 minutes from 10am – 1pm.

If you are a carer these clinics give you the opportunity to receive one-to-one support from one of our experienced carer advisers. They are able to provide information and advice that is specific for you, and talk with you about the support available to help you as a carer in your caring role.

We recently were able to help one carer who is not easily able to get this type of advice during the week due to his fulltime job. One of our team spoke to him about his situation. The personal advice and support they give included talking about private care, carer breaks, emergency planning, carer hub groups, support from our listening ear service and signing up to receive Carers magazine. We were also able to contact the Alzheimer’s Society who were then able to arrange a visit to the family shortly after to discuss strategies to help the carer manage difficult situations as and when they arise.

Future dates for our Saturday clinics are:

  • Saturday 5 December
  • Saturday 9 January
  • Saturday 6 February
  • Saturday 6 March

If you would like to book a time to speak to one of our carer advisers please call us on 0345 241 0954 or email us at [email protected]
