Lizzie lacing up to raise money for Caring Together

3rd October 19

A member of Caring Together team is going to be taking on a 7K run at the A14 Great Ouse Challenge and will be raising funds for the charity she works for.

Corporate services officer Lizzie Hindler will be heading along to the event on Saturday 12 October and explained she was keen to combine her running with fundraising for Caring Together’s work to provide information, services and campaign so that carers have choices.

Lizzie HindlerLike many of the staff at Caring Together Lizzie’s personal experiences give her a strong connection with the work she does for the charity. She said, “I have worked for Caring Together since  November last year. The charity helps so many people; I have family members who are carers so I see the help we offer and how it is a great relief for carers and the people they care for.

“I decided to raise money for the charity as it is something to give back.

“And if it helps just one person it is well worth it.”

Lizzie said, has been running since 2016 when she started on the Couch to 5K with Biggleswade AC.

Since then Lizzie has kept on running and has a target in her mind that she is building towards, “I have an ambition to complete a half marathon.”

The last event Lizzie took on was the Maulden 5k and the A14 Great Ouse Challenge is her next step on the road to that half marathon. But as well as her own running goal this time Lizzie knows her running will be benefitting carers and their families.

Head of fundraising and engagement at Caring Together, Hannah Clay, is impressed by Lizzie’s feat, “It is great to see Lizzie leading by example with her fundraising. Here at Caring Together she sees day-in and day-out the invaluable lifeline that we provide for carers and their families. A lifeline that would not be available without the generous support of the general public.

“I hope that her enthusiasm and dedication to doing her bit to help carers inspires others to get involved in whatever way they can, be it through fundraising or volunteering with the charity.”
