The Parkinson’s local adviser for Cambridgeshire (excluding Peterborough) provides confidential, one-to-one information and support on matters relating to Parkinson’s and local services. They support anyone affected by the condition including family, friends, carers and colleagues as well as people with Parkinson’s. They cover information about living with Parkinson’s day-to-day, managing symptoms, emotional support, benefits and much more. They can help by advice, information and by referring or signposting people to the services relevant to their needs. They liaise with health, social care and other local support to help you to have the support you need. They work on the phone and by home visits, according to what is required, and can send booklets, factsheets and leaflets with relevant information. The local adviser has links with the Parkinson’s UK local branches and support groups, where people can enjoy a range of social events, groups and classes relevant to people with Parkinson’s, and where many people enjoy volunteering to help their local branch and for social activities and fun.
