Local volunteers providing free short term practical help in your home. For up to six weeks after a hospital stay, (or illness at home to help avoid a hospital admission) they can help to:

  • Check you are OK
  • Fetch a prescription
  • Collect shopping
  • Arrange other services eg: meals on wheels, public and voluntary services, mobile warden schemes and a range of other community groups.

We can also offer help with one-off tasks, not just after illness, such as:

  • Changing a light bulb
  • Posting a letter or parcel
  • One-off emergency shop
  • Light-touch housework
  • Energy card top-ups
  • Home assessments for hospital discharges including fridge clearance
  • Referring you on to further services.

If what you need is not listed, do ask!
