Hours 37 hours per week
Salary £28,000-£30,000
Location Hybrid role between our office in St Ives, Cambridgeshire and your home. The role may include some other travel to other locations in the area as needed.

About the role

As our Assistant Accountant, you’ll play a key role in our small but mighty finance team. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing purchase ledger and ensuring timely supplier payments.
  • Completing bank reconciliations.
  • Supporting sales invoicing and payroll (training provided).
  • Assisting with month-end reporting, including accruals, prepayments, and VAT.
  • Providing financial insights to budget holders.
  • Supporting the Director of Finance and Resources and Management Accountant with ad-hoc tasks.

You’ll be part of a supportive environment where learning and development are encouraged, and your work will directly contribute to improving the lives of unpaid carers.

What we are looking for

  • Part-qualified or actively studying AAT, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Experience with purchase ledger, sales invoicing, and accounts to trial balance.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • A proactive, flexible team player with great communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, People Planner, or Salesforce is a bonus – but not essential.
