Kind-hearted volunteers from Lloyds had their rollers at the ready to boost Caring Together Charity’s preparations for their first-ever shop in King’s Lynn.
With paintbrushes in hand, seven staff from Lloyds’ relationship management department got stuck in with decorating what will be the stock room at the charity’s shop in the town’s High Street.
The Caring Together shop is set to open this autumn to help the charity with its mission to support unpaid carers across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
As part of their commitment to supporting local communities and helping Britain prosper, Lloyds Banking Group encourages all colleagues to take part in skills-based volunteering each year.
And the Lloyds team’s painting prowess proved to be a major asset as work begins to transform the empty premises into an exciting new store.
Chris Dean, Lloyds’ King’s Lynn-based relationship manager (pictured below), said: “At Lloyds, we’re encouraged to spend a day volunteering in our local community and King’s Lynn is a great town that’s central to our patch.
“It’s been great to get out with the rest of the team, giving something back, especially for a charity like Caring Together, which does so much in the local community.”
Caring Together Charity Shop Manager Belinda Jones was thrilled with the efforts of the Lloyds volunteers in brightening up the store.
She said: “We are so fortunate to have had a team of amazing volunteers from Lloyds painting our stock room.
“We want to say a huge thank you to them for helping us out and supporting our charity.”
Belinda added that Caring Together are seeking more volunteers to get involved as the shop takes shape, whether on the shop floor or in the stock room.
She said: “It’s going to be a really welcoming, friendly community hub, so we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team. We would love to hear from you!”
