A team of 15 amazing athletes had a spring in their step after raising around £2,000 for Caring Together Charity by taking part in the Norwich Inflatable 5K.
Three members of Caring Together staff – Laura Price, Claire Rogers and Demi Edmonds, plus volunteer Abi Cooper – were among those taking on the obstacles at Norfolk Showground on Saturday.
Claire had even banned herself from her favourite treats of Pepsi Max and cake since the start of this month as part of her training regime – and to boost donations to her appeal!
She said: “It was worth it to raise money to support the wonderful charity I work for and the brilliant carers I work with.”
Three young carers – Thalia, Keola and Phoebe – who Claire, Demi and Abi work with closely, also took the Inflatable 5K in their stride for Caring Together, a charity which supports unpaid carers across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
And Thalia and Keola had already done their bit by holding a tombola at a car boot sale, raising £70 to support our work with young carers in Norfolk.
Thalia said: “We decided the Inflatable 5K would be a really fun way to raise funds to help young carers and the support we’ve had has been amazing.”
Having organised the team, Caring Together Charity Senior Fundraising Manager Laura Price put her best foot forward and gave the obstacle course a go herself.
She said: “It was great fun and we had an incredible team of runners who had a brilliant time bouncing around the inflatables!
“We are so grateful to everyone who took part in helping to raise much-needed funds to support Caring Together Charity’s work with unpaid carers in the local community.”
