Mask Theatre dare to bare with fundraising calendar for Caring Together Charity

19th October 26

Mask Theatre members with backs to camera and with arms around each other. The cast of Mask Theatre’s latest production are ready to reveal all to support Caring Together Charity.

Adapted from the comedy film that starred Helen Mirren and Julie Walters, the daring amateur theatre group will be performing Calendar Girls at Ormiston Bushfield Academy Theatre in Peterborough next month.

And in homage to the much-loved movie, based on the true story of a group of women who created a nude calendar to raise funds for charity, Mask Theatre members are dressing down for their own version in aid of Caring Together!

The calendar will be ‘unveiled’ at the production, which runs from Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21 November.

Caring Together Charity Head of Fundraising and Communications Zoe Bunter, who plays Chris, is among the actors bravely baring all!

She said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to raise money for a very important cause, if in a rather unconventional way!

“Annie, in the play, becomes a carer for her husband when he becomes ill with leukaemia. Her WI friends rally around her and eventually decide to do something very brave for charity – they are our inspiration!

“The play is very funny and sure to be a brilliant night out. At Mask Theatre Group we are all volunteers and we wanted to do something to help unpaid carers in Peterborough and beyond through the play. So, a charity calendar was an obvious choice – although ours features some gentlemen as well!”
