CCC: “I am extremely proud that Cambridgeshire County Council has been awarded with the Carer Friendly Tick. This recognition demonstrates our commitment to making sure colleagues with caring responsibilities are fully supported at work. By ensuring our policies, culture and ways of working take account of carers’ needs, we can help colleagues balance their caring role at home with their role in the workplace.” – Cllr Chris Morris, Chair of Staffing and Service Appeals Committee.
CPFT CAMHS Eating Disorder Pathway: “We follow a family-based treatment model and recognise parents as carers within this but
wanted to acknowledge all potential caring roles, not solely for the young person in treatment. The Carer Friendly Tick provides us with the framework to maintain and build upon our current practice and make us accountable as a service. We are also passionate about raising awareness of staff as carers and the impact this has.” – Emma Morgan and Jade Reid, CEDS Carer Leads.
Kinsale Infant School: “We applied for the Young Carers Tick Award because we wanted to raise awareness and recognise the important role young carers play in our community. Gaining this award has given our group of young carers a real sense of pride and belonging, it is really important to us a school that they always feel supported and know how special they are.”
Milton Surgery: “It is important that ALL Carers feel supported and know where to go to access further help and advice if needed. We are proud to display our Carer Friendly Tick Award and have lots of exciting plans for the future to ensure all the carers in our community continue to be supported and included. With the advice and guidance we receive from Caring Together, we hope to improve our support even more in the coming months.”
NSFT Kingfisher MBU: “Engaging with families and carers is a central compound of the perinatal support delivered within the Kingfisher
Mother and Baby Unit. Carers provide essential support to our service users, and it is therefore crucial that their needs are identified and that appropriate support is offered throughout admission and beyond discharge. By applying the for the Carers Tick Award, the MBU team seek to demonstrate our commitment to excellence by ensuring carers are consistently supported and that our service continues to evolve to meet their needs.”
NCHCT: “We are proud that our Trust has once again been recognised with the prestigious Carer Friendly Tick Award, a testament to the dedication, compassion and values upheld by our teams across all services. This recognition reflects not only the way we support carers of our patients, but also how we continue to champion and care for our own staff with caring responsibilities. It reinforces our commitment to fostering a culture of compassion, where carers, whether they are patients, family members, or colleagues, feel seen, heard and supported. To have this award judged and endorsed by carers themselves makes the achievement especially meaningful. It highlights the impact of our collective efforts and the strength of our values in action.”
Pinpoint Cambridgeshire: “As an organisation set up to raise the voices of parents and carers of SEND children and young people, it is essential that parent carers remain the focal point of all our activity. Going through the renewal process for the Carer Friendly Tick Award gave us the chance to think about our working policy and practice to ensure we did this.”
Wymondham High Academy: “Gaining the Carer Friendly Tick Award will benefit Young Carers at Wymondham High Academy by
fostering a supportive environment that acknowledges and addresses their caring responsibilities, providing access to tailored support along with raising awareness among peers and staff, and increasing independence for young carers. This will help the students feel seen and supported, ensuring they can achieve their full potential alongside their educational and personal lives.” – James Edwards, Deputy Headteacher and SLT Young Carers Champion.
