Caring Together joins coalition for young people

8th December 20

We are pleased to announce that we are now a member of a coalition for young people – the ‘Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition’. Set up by Sir Norman Lamb and Norfolk Community Foundation, this aims to bring together organisations to work together to support children and young people and their mental wellbeing.

The innovative coalition brings together Norfolk-based voluntary community social enterprise organisations that work to support the wellbeing of children and young people aged 0-25 years.

Andy McGowan, head of carer services at Caring Together, said: “We are delighted to have joined the coalition. Both before, and during COVID-19, young carers have regularly told us how their caring responsibilities impacts on their own mental health and wellbeing, and so we feel it is incredibly important to be part of this much-needed project.

“We hope that by working with the other members of the coalition, we will be able to create more carer-friendly communities and ensure that the mental health and wellbeing of all children and young people in Norfolk is being regularly promoted.”
