Family Carer Helpline shortlisted for Great British Care Award

3rd November 17

We are extremely delighted to announce that our Family Carer Helpline Team has been shortlisted for Putting People First/Personalisation Award, for the Great British Care Awards, East of England regional final.

Our inspirational team is a true team in every sense of the word. They are at the ‘coalface’ of our organisation as they are often the first people carers speak to. They offer help and support in the form of Information, Advice and Guidance.

The team are extremely empathetic and understanding of the problems face by family carers. Sometimes they just listen to a person who is desperate to talk to someone. The team always treat the people who call in with dignity, respect and consideration for their circumstances. They take their time with people who call in, making time to listen and to try to help in any way they can.

The emotional support they provide is as vital as the physical support our Homecare Team provides and have been described as a “godsend” by the people they help.

The Family Carer Helpline Team really are the personification of putting people first.

The Family Carer Helpline Team will find out on Thursday 9th November at a nail-biting awards ceremony in Peterborough if they have won. We say Good Luck team to a very well deserved nomination!
