Rock out while raising funds for Caring Together Charity at a special gig organised by a kind-hearted supporter.
Featuring top covers band Limelight, the event has been organised by Lindsey Smith, who wanted to raise funds for the charity because of the support provided to her grandmother.
Lindsey’s grandmother has had dementia for around six years, while her grandfather was recently diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, meaning he had been unable to help her as much as he had been. Her parents also visit and help her grandparents most days.
But Lindsey highlighted Caring Together Charity rapid responders Vida Palmer and Steve Nicholson in doing a fantastic job of helping her grandmother while her parents take her grandfather for hospital appointments.
She said: ” My mum, in particular, has said how amazing they are. They go and sit with my nan when there are no alternative solutions. My nan also really enjoys speaking with different people – she always has!”
“I wanted to run an event for our friends and family to raise some money for this excellent charity.”
Laura Price, Caring Together Charity senior fundraising manager, said: “We are so grateful to Lindsey for arranging what promises to be an excellent evening of music from Limelight to raise money for our cause, which supports carers with expert advice, opportunities to meet other carers, breaks from caring, counselling and more.”
“We hope the gig will strike a chord as every penny raised makes a difference to support unpaid carers.”
