Funding to ensure carers continue to receive support

13th October 20

We are very grateful to have received a gift from the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust from their Charity Survival Fund.

The money is to ensure the sustainability of Caring Together, to help our charity be more resilient through the challenges of the coronavirus crisis and able to continue to deliver our core work supporting carers.

We provide information and advice, run services in our local communities and campaign so that carers have choices. We make sure carers and their families across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Norfolk know where to go for support before, during and after their caring role and can get the practical help that matters to them.

Melanie Gray, Caring Together deputy chief executive said, “The challenges that charities have faced throughout the coronavirus crisis have been shown in the media, and more importantly felt throughout the community.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Julia and Hans Rausing and the fact that they, not only have they provided this financial support to charities, but increased it due to the extent of response.

“It means so much to us that the impact on carers has been recognised and understood, especially when carers have been hidden more than ever, despite the difficulties they face having increased as a direct result of the pandemic.

“We are extremely grateful to the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust for this gift, and the real impact is in the support it will enable us to continue to provide to carers, and especially in reaching out to those who are not yet receiving any help but desperately need it.”

Julia and Hans Rausing said, “When reading through the many applications for the Charity Survival Fund, we were struck by the number of charities which are doing vital work supporting communities across the country. We are thrilled that Caring Together will be able to continue to offer help and support to people, at a time when the pandemic has made their work more important than ever before.”
