Bursary helps family of young carers enjoy a break

12th January 22

Young carers bursaryThanks to a bursary we were able to provide, a family of young carers were able to buy equipment to benefit their health and wellbeing.

Ollie, Kye, Tegan and Jayden, were over the moon with their arts and crafts materials, a Lego kit, football kit and a tracksuit for dancing lessons. The much-appreciated toys, sportswear and lessons will enable the children to enjoy some down time away from their caring roles.

The children’s mum, Charlene, thanked us for the bursary.

She said the children are affected by the impact of having siblings with additional needs. She added, “they don’t have the same opportunity as their peers and life is a constant struggle, so having some items where they can relax and just be children is amazing for all kind of reasons, but in particular for their mental health.”
