‘Be a carer for a day’ is a fundraising and learning programme for schools and groups for young people. Whether you work at a school, volunteer at your local scout or girlguiding unit, or your local youth church group, the programme can help young people emphathise with young carers and acknowledge their very important role.
Children complete age-appropriate caring challenges at home and at school or their group, and can gain sponsorship from friends and family. This helps them understand what it’s like to be a young carer while raising vital funds and awareness.
We will provide you with a resource pack which includes discussion and activity resources, a short presentation and sponsorship materials.
Why take part?

- Positive and inclusive for all young people.
About Caring Together Charity
We support carers of all ages across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and Norfolk, and work closely with schools and groups to raise awareness of young carers. We also offer our Carer Friendly Tick Award which recognises schools and groups that demonstrate strong support for young people with caring responsibilities.
Please let us know if you have any questions or want to know more about what we do.
We would love you to share your experiences of delivering the programme to the young people you work with. You may even find you have some young carers in your setting who weren’t previously identified. Email us to tell us more.
