Fundraise for carers

When you raise funds to support Caring Together Charity you are helping unpaid carers of all ages in your local community, including children and young people.

The funds you raise could enable carers to:

  • Get expert advice from our Advice Line
  • Get training and meet other unpaid carers at our carer hubs
  • Receive vital breaks from caring.

The most important thing about fundraising for Caring Together Charity is that it should be fun! Choose an activity that you will enjoy and you are sure to be successful!

A supporter, Carol Gunns, recently had a fun fundraising experience by hosting a coffee morning, she told us “We had a good time together at my coffee morning and was quite surprised just how many of us have found ourselves in an unpaid caring role. Thank you”.

We have lots of ideas for individuals and groups, with step by step instructions. You could also come up with your own idea.

What do I do first?

Step 1: Check out our top tips to make sure your activity is as successful as possible, safe and legal!

Sept 2: Choose your activity (we’ve given you a head start with some ideas below):

  • Take on a physical challenge – run, walk, cycle or swim
  • Cake for carers
  • Dress up
  • Host a pub quiz with your organisation or community group (this can even be held virtually!)
  • Arrange a Paint & Sip evening
  • Plan a raffle
  • Host a baking contest
  • Plan a Bingo night.

Step 3: Set up your fundraising page

Visit Just Giving to set up your dedicated fundraising page. It is easy and simple to set up a Just Giving page. See our Top tips for your online fundraising page.

Step 4: Spread the word

Ask friends, family, colleagues and other people you know to sponsor you. See our Top Tips for an example message you could send out. If you need any information or resources, contact us at fundraising@caringtogether.org

Step 5: Prepare for your fundraiser

Whether that’s training for your race, getting the ingredients ready for a bake sale or selling tickets to a Bingo night, keep your fundraising page updated with how you are getting on!

Step 6: Complete your challenge!

Enjoy it! Have fun and know you are making a difference for unpaid carers with every step you take. Plus, make sure you take photos and get permission to send these to us at fundraising@caringtogether.org so we can share your incredible achievements on our socials.

Step 7: Congratulations!

Once you’ve completed your challenge you can send any donations that haven’t been made online into us. See our Top tips for full details. We will also make sure you receive a nice thank you card confirming how much you have raised.
