Fundraising for Pudsey

17th November 17

Our BBC Children in Need funded project, Free to Be Me, offers inspiring opportunities for children and young people with disabilities, siblings and young carers – aged 5 to 18.

This week, we have done our own fundraising in aid of this worthwhile cause.

Bisha Mistry, Free to Be Me Project Lead, explains:

“Firstly, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everybody who purchased some goodies on Wednesday in aid of Children in Need. I am delighted to say that we raised £70.00 within the hour! Your generosity is very much appreciated.

Children in Need is definitely a cause that tugs on the heart strings and I feel very honoured to be able to see the direct impact of the funding and the difference it makes to our young service users. So far this year the new grant has enabled us to continue to provide CYP, Siblings, YC and YAC access to activities where they have a safe space to grow as individuals and develop aspirations in a fun and enjoyable way. It’s also benefited by bringing  young people together with other people who are most important to them, so they can all have meaningful and unforgettable experiences. And based on some of the feedback from the young people, the activities through the grant are definitely very important and positive to their lives.

In addition, last week we were given the opportunity to feature on BBC Cambridgeshire Radio on Dotty’s programme featuring a short clip about Carers Trust CPN in collaboration with BBC Children in Need.

This short film was also created.
