Volunteers’ Week 2021 – celebrating our volunteers

27th May 21

Volunteers WeekAt Caring Together, we are delighted to have a wonderful team of volunteers. Our team is made up of 44 dedicated people who give their time and talents tirelessly to support carers.

We would like to say a big thank you to all of the wonderful people who volunteer with us across our region in so many varied ways. No matter how much or little time our volunteers have to give, they are sure to make a big difference.

Volunteers have the opportunity to get involved and help make caring easier in a number of ways, from helping out at local groups, hubs and clubs for carers on a regular basis, to supporting the charity’s fundraising efforts in our local community every now and again.

The services our volunteers help to provide to carers by their roles with Caring Together include:

  • Listening ear
  • Breaks for carers
  • Young carers group
  • Day clubs
  • Family hubs
  • Caring Friendly tick assessment
  • Inclusion project
  • Norfolk Young Carers Forum
  • IT support
  • Counselling
  • Pen pals
  • Helpline

As well as making a contribution to carers volunteers get a lot from their roles themselves and feel the benefits of what they do.

Rylan Ray, said, “I have had many different volunteering roles over the last year and further back but the overarching feeling is one of pride. It has been great to have something to do where I am giving back and supporting people who give so much themselves.

“Especially over the last year when whole communities have been coming together to support one another it is amazing to be part of an organisation that does this all year every year.”

Annie Gault, Caring Together’s HR and Volunteer coordinator said, “I’m proud of our team of our dedicated volunteers. Their roles vary widely from Listening Ear volunteers to young carer group volunteers to providing IT support. We are grateful to have such a range of skilled and dedicated people as part of our team; a team which is growing as we develop of new ways to support carers.”
