Winners of the Kerry Care Awards 2025

11th November 25

The winners of the second annual Kerry Care Awards were announced on 3 November at an awards ceremony attended by the friends and family of Kerry Giles-Brown, who the awards are in memory of. Kerry Giles-Brown was a devoted member of our care team who sadly passed away from cancer in 2024. The awards were set up in her memory and to recognise members of our team who give the outstanding care that Kerry was so passionate about. Kerry’s daughter, Megan, selected the winners, and she presented the awards with Kerry’s husband Steve, to the worthy winners.

Beth Daplyn, Kerry Care Award 2025 third placeThird prize was won by Beth Daplyn. Beth was nominated by two of her colleagues and was described as, “a consistent support to her service users.” They continued, “She is communicative, caring and always happy to help. Beth often flies under the radar as she is so consistent she almost goes un-noticed. Beth is exactly the kind of Care Professional I would want looking after a member of my family. Beth is patient, friendly, always smiling and generally a joy to those she supports.”

Sophie Jugg, Kerry Care Award 2025 second placeSecond prize was won by Sophie Jugg, who was nominated by Marie. Marie’s husband has serious health problems and she cares for him at home. Sophie cared for him to allow Marie to take much-needed breaks and visit the dentist. She said, “Sophie is so kind and caring. From the first moment we met I just knew that my husband would be okay with her.  He was very vulnerable, non-verbal and unable to feed himself. He always looked for me even if I just went to kitchen but he was very relaxed with Sophie.

“First time we met my husband was able to be in a chair so she instantly sat next to him holding his hand/arm for reassurance. He made absolutely no fuss when I left for dentist which was rare for him and I was reassured he would be fine.  The next two visits he was bed-bound but again she sat on chair beside bed and provided reassurance.  He was non-verbal but she just chatted away to him. On one occasion she fed him his treat of mini cheddars. On my return she always made sure to ask if I needed anything else before she left. I rarely left my husband’s side in the two years of his illness but Sophie made it very easy for me.”

Helen Robinson, Kerry Care Award 2025 first placeFirst prize was won by Helen Robinson who was nominated by two of her colleagues. They said, “Helen should be recognised for her outstanding contributions as a care worker, she’s very good at her role and lovely to work with. She definitely goes above and beyond for clients and colleagues… she is very compassionate and empathetic towards clients and colleagues. She will go out of her way to make them feel better.

“Over recent months Helen has gone above and beyond in her role as a Care Professional.”

Huge congratulations to Helen, Sophie and Beth! Thank you to our care team for the fantastic support you provide to families, people with health problems and unpaid carers across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Norfolk.
