Meet Alison our Honorary Treasurer

16th November 17

Meet Alison Griffiths our Honorary Treasurer, who join us in 2016.

After over 30 years of working in finance in large organisations and travelling internationally extensively for work, Alison decided to leave her London-based role and spend more time based from home in Cambridgeshire. She wanted to use her finance and project skills in a charitable environment and with organisations which provide support either locally, or in an an area of specialism which appeals to her.

Her trustee appointments for Carers Trust Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Norfolk (Carers Trust CPN) and Pinpoint particularly highlight that affinity with the Care support sector. To date, she has enjoyed using her skills to support all 3 trustee organisations across a variety of issues and within a landscape of pressurised funding and the need for organisational change.

Whilst not a carer herself, Alison is acutely aware that we may all have traits of caring in all our lives, or we will have in future years, and she wants to ensure she can do everything she can for Carers Trust CPN to help secure its future and provision of services.

Trustees Week, 13-17 November, is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference.

As a registered charity, Carers Trust Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Norfolk is governed by an experienced and dedicated Board of Trustees. We are incredibly grateful to all the board who bring various skills from many different sectors. They attend board meetings and events throughout Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Norfolk; one month they could be discussing operations, the next they could be meeting staff at a meetings or talking to carers at an event or carrying out their own caring responsibilities. Being a trustee brings such a variety of different flavours and that is what makes being a trustee so interesting. All our trustees are volunteers giving up their precious time for free and for that we are truly grateful.

In early December we’ll kick off a recruitment campaign to bring in three new Trustees to join the team. It’s a wonderful opportunity to use your skills and experience, to work with some talented and interesting colleagues,  and to make a real difference to those around you. If you are interest in knowing more about becoming a Trustee with us, please drop Stuart Evans an email at [email protected]. We’ll send you an information pack as soon as it is available.
