Listening Ear

Listening Ear

**This service is currently fully subscribed – we will update this page when more places are available**

We know that looking after a family member or friend can be hard. That is why we have our Listening Ear service which gives you as a carer the opportunity to talk to one of our volunteer befrienders on the phone about the things that matter to you. Our volunteer befrienders have received training in safeguarding, professional boundaries and are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked to ensure they are suitable to undertake this role.

You may want to benefit from weekly conversations, or to be able to arrange calls for when you feel you need them.

Feedback from carers is that the Listening Ear service hugely helps them to cope with their caring role and reduces the sense of isolation that many carers face.
