Dementia Adventure help people live better with dementia by connecting them to the outdoors, their community and help retain a sense of adventure in their lives. They provide supported dementia holidays where partners, family, friends and carers can enjoy their break together.
The holidays are subsidised through fundraising to enable as many people living with dementia across the UK to benefit as possible. The venues are chosen carefully and the holidays are run in small groups by a fully trained team with expertly planned itineraries. A break can provide a great alternative to traditional respite and they can organise personal care if required.
Dementia Adventure also offer bespoke holidays for a group of friends or families who want to travel together.
In addition to supported holidays the charity also offers:
• Family carer support events that enable carers to better understand dementia, provide them with caring and coping strategies and give them hope and the tools to live better with the condition.
• Training and consultancy that helps other organisations create better choice and opportunities for people with dementia
• Research that highlights the benefits of outdoor activity for people living with dementia.
