We can provide a letter or carer card* so shop staff know you are a carer when you shop for the person you look after.

If the person you look after lives in Cambridgeshire or Peterborough you can also register a ‘What If? Plan’ with us which will also be recorded on your carers card.

Supermarket delivery slots for vulnerable customers

The government service is not currently open for new registrations because, since 1 August 2020 in most of England, people aren’t being advised to shield anymore. This means supermarkets we are no longer receiving data from the government to enable them to give you priority access to our delivery slots.

With most supermarkets if you had already registered and have an priority customer delivery status, you’ll keep it.

You can either create an account online or call the supermarket on 0800 917 7359. Tesco should then be able to verify whether they are on the government’s list.

Ask a friend cash scheme

If the person you care for has an account with a bank which has signed up for the Post Office’s “Payout Now” or “Fast PACE” service this may help you.

The improved services mean that self-isolating or vulnerable citizens affected by the coronavirus pandemic can now contact their bank and arrange to withdraw cash quickly from their normal accounts through any local Post Office branch, with the help of a friend, family member, carer or local support worker.

Contact your bank to ask if they are part of the “Payout Now” or “Fast PACE” service. They can then supply details on how to make a withdrawal this way.

Morrisons food boxes

Morrisons Customer Services team have set up a dedicated elderly and vulnerable phone line for those customers to place an order over the phone.

They can choose from a Food Box from

or place an order from a selection of 45 essential groceries for doorstep delivery.

This service is available 8-4pm Mon-Friday excluding bank holidays.
