Specialist carer counselling service for unpaid carers in Norfolk
Are you an unpaid carer experiencing burn-out and compassion fatigue? We offer professional support for individual and couples caring for their family member or friend, parent carers and young adult carers (18-25 year old).
At Caring Together Charity we understand that as a carer you may be experiencing your own mental health and wellbeing challenges therefore we offer a specialist counselling service providing individual and couples therapy from our professionally qualified, knowledgeable and experienced counselling/psychotherapy practitioners.
We work with stress, anxiety, depression, loss, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, carer breakdowns and carers in crisis. You will receive support that is tailored to your specific and personal needs, with other caring related support being available from other specialist services at Caring Together Charity.
This is a discounted fee-based service (between £40 to £100 per session) and costs can be discussed upon your initial contact with our friendly team. Counselling sessions are held in the comfort of your own home via telephone or Zoom.

Meet our Norfolk Counselling Team

Steph is our Counselling Service Manager at Caring Together Charity. Having been a qualified Counsellor for over ten years, Steph is passionate in her role working with unpaid carers. She says, “There are so many unpaid carers at breaking point, experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and complete burn out. It is so rewarding to see the positive impact of the work we do within our team to support unpaid carers. We are a small but very effective service, which I feel proud to be a part of.”

Cathy is one of our qualified Counsellors working with Caring Together Charity, she is passionate about helping carers manage stress, emotional burnout, feelings of guilt and resentment in the caring role.
As an integrative Counsellor, Cathy helps carers develop personalised strategies for their own individual needs navigating life’s challenges, creating healthy boundaries and encouraging positivity. As a trauma informed therapist, she will guide carers through their experiences with compassion, sensitivity and understanding. Her aim is to navigate clients towards self-compassion, emotional regulation and build healthy coping strategies. Cathy also works with couples who wish to improve communication, rediscover connection, and strengthen their relationship.

Emily is one of our qualified counsellors working with adult carers. Emily has clinical experience in a variety of settings – including within a bereavement service, a youth counselling service and within a national mental health charity. She works with a variety of issues such as grief, trauma, self-esteem and relationship difficulties.
She enjoys working with carers to help them make meaningful and lasting change in their lives. Her approach is mostly psychodynamic which means she considers past relationships and ways of relating and how they might be impacting what is going on in the client’s present. Her aim is to help the client find compassion and empathy for themselves to enable them to keep caring. Emily also has experience supporting our greatly valued trainees and qualified counsellors in clinical supervision.
